Earth Day Activities Bundle for Middle School Students

Keep calm and teach Earth Day! Use these three time-saving Earth Day activities to teach your students how to make Earth a better place. This bundle includes:

1. Interactive Bulletin Board Activity:

What is included in this Earth Day Bulletin Board:

🌳  10 color and black and white Earth day facts

🌳  3 different bulletin board headings in two different font choices:

    • “Every Day is Earth Day!”
    • “Reduce Reuse Recycle”
    • “Be Earth Friendly!”

🌳  4 coordinating bulletin board borders – just print, cut and use!

🌳 Writing prompt in either digital or print format.

🌳  Editable Earth Day pledge to change one habit to benefit Earth.

Over 130 pages of content for your bulletin board! Change it up year after year!

Tips for using this bulletin board activity in your classroom:

  • Review each Earth fact then assign a fact to one or two students. They will research and find out more information, then present it to the class and post it on the bulletin board using the included research paper.
  • Have students find other interesting Earth facts that deserve to be on the bulletin board. Students research that fact, then present to the class and post their information on the bulletin board.
  • Students pick a fact from the bulletin board. They write a paragraph on what they learned when researching this fact.

2. Earth Day Mystery Graphing Activity

The coordinate graphing pictures vary in length and difficulty and include:

  • Earth with Heart- easiest
  • Recycle Symbol- intermediate
  • Earth Day- lengthy intermediate
  • Tree- advance

Why should teachers use this Earth Day activity in their classroom?

  • Both sets of graph papers required for the activity are included.
  • Perfect for early finishers, sub plans or homework.
  • Four mystery pictures in either the first quadrant – positive integers only – or four quadrants – positive and negative numbers
  • Answer keys for all

This resource is differentiated to meet the needs of your students. Four pictures each have two levels of differentiation. Choose between one or four quadrants depending on the skills of your students. Let your students achieve the same results but work at the level they need in order to succeed.

3: Earth Day Escape Room

Students will use team building and critical thinking skills to complete each of the six clues. This resource is very low prep for teachers and includes step-by step directions as well as an answer key and funny certificates for your students!

Students will learn about the history of Earth Day, tips on how to reduce, reuse and recycle and more!

Why Should You Use This Earth Day Activity?

  • Digital or print – this escape room can be assigned using Google Slides and Google Forms to make it completely paperless. Or print out copies and laminate to use it over and over in the upcoming years.
  • Included student answer sheet keeps track of their answers so they don’t have to write on the sheets if you are conserving paper.
  • Certificates for winners and losers! Remember, not everyone should win during an escape room challenge. Make sure to take pictures of your students posing with funny certificates. Twenty different sayings to choose from!

Students will practice different skills such as order of operations, basic math, general knowledge, and decoding, and reading informational text for a fun experience!

Does the teacher ever need to take a day off?

Of course you do! Use one or all of these activities as simple plans for your substitute. These no-prep resources are all you need when looking for quick and easy sub plans!
