Students will learn:
The Earth has seasons because it is tilted on its axis. As it revolves around the sun, different areas of Earth experience differing angles of sunlight, causing more or less daylight.
Because of this tilt, areas of latitude such as the tropic of Cancer, equator, tropic of Capricorn, Arctic Circle, and Antarctic Circle are important to understand.
Earth’s revolution is in an elliptical shape and is farther away from the sun during the summer than in the winter.
