• Radiation from the sun travels into Earth’s atmosphere and heats the ground. This starts the process of Earth’s heating.
• The air resting upon Earth’s surface becomes heated and rises through the process of convection, which is the movement of fluids (gas and liquid).
• Conduction is the heating of solids through direct contact.
• This is how winds and weather form.
